Adult Classes

WheelCraft Studio offers 6-week adult art classes in pottery, painting, stained glass, printmaking, mixed media, and more — designed for beginners and returning students (ages 16+) who want to build real skill, not just finish a craft project. Each session runs for 6 weeks, with small class sizes and instruction from experienced local art educators.

Classes are currently running August-September. All supplies and materials are included in the price. Click on the menu or photo below for detailed information on each class. Registration and payment are handled through the 24hr Pottery app when you click on the sign up link or class picture.

  • Learn the fundamentals of ceramics from the ground up — shaping clay using the pottery wheel and handbuilding techniques to create functional pieces. Students glaze all of their own work. This 6-week course leaves you with hands-on wheel experience, a small collection of finished pottery, and the skills to continue your pottery journey through a studio membership or additional pottery classes.

  • Begin by learning to cut glass through a mosaic project, then move into the copper foil method of stained glass construction — cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering glass into a finished piece. This 6-week course covers everything needed to design and build your own stained glass work, so you leave feeling confident in our studio and ready to continue creating as a member.

  • A foundational course in oil painting technique, covering layering, blending, and color theory. Students work at their own pace across 6 weeks to complete a skill sampler and 2 finished paintings using traditional oil methods.

  • Learn to confidently use a sewing machine — from threading and tension to choosing the right stitch for the job. Students learn to read patterns and leave this 6-week course with finished, functional projects they'll actually use.

  • Learn mixed-media bookbinding and journaling techniques using paper, ephemera, and found materials. This 6-week course teaches students to design and construct a fully customized junk journal from start to finish, and fill it with creative works of art.

Art Class FAQ

  • When you book, the date and time shown (like August 17th, 7:00 PM) is your first class session — and it locks in your day of the week for the whole session. So "August 17th" means your class meets every Monday at 7:00 PM for all 6 weeks.

  • Nope! Tuition is a one-time cost and includes all materials — just show up ready to create.

  • No worries! If you miss a session, you can make it up by attending another class time offered the week before or after. If needed, we'll also offer an extra makeup session during week 7.

  • Absolutely! Retaking a class is a great way to grow — you'll get to interpret the same projects in new, creative ways instead of just repeating them. And if you've fallen in love with your medium and are ready to work more independently, we offer memberships for painting, glass, and pottery. Memberships give you full access to the studio anytime to work on your own projects at your own pace. Members also get discounts on taking classes and workshops at WheelCraft.   • Teens ages 16+ are welcome to join our adult classes! For younger kids and teens, we offer weekly after-school art classes during the school year and summer camps all summer long. All of our kids' and teens' programs are designed to spark originality. No cookie-cutter crafts here! Check out our kids & teens programs to learn more.

  • A new medium every week — pottery, glass, watercolor, canvas painting, mixed media, and more. Perfect for beginners who can't pick just one craft, or anyone ready to explore beyond their usual medium. Six weeks, six finished pieces, zero commitment to just one art form. All materials provided.
